Online Lead Generation is collecting valuable leads into your business, who represent great prospects to offer your services and products to.
To start with, you can set up these 4 essential ingredients in your business.
In addition to the valuable outcome of getting more leads into your business, you get the following benefits:
- You are building your marketing database – “Your list”
- This database is actually considered as an asset in your business.
So let’s look at these 4 essential components
1. Lead Magnet
Your lead magnet is something of value you offer your prospects and website visitors in exchange for their contact details. This is free to them.
The Contact Details you collect could be… their Name, Email Address, and possibly their country of residence or other information.
Your Value Offer can be a Free Report, an Audio or video to download, a sample or trial of something etc. Which acts as a great resource, to help them achieve what they are after, or overcome a problem.
2. Landing Page
This is the page on your website where visitors go to see your Lead magnet offer. It’s also called an Optin Page or a Lead Page.
If the offer is of interest to them, they will be happy to give you their name and email address to access your offer. This is called “Opting In”
It’s important that this page has no menu or navigation on it…. It’s just there for one purpose.. And that’s to collect leads for your business- So no distractions for your visitors!
3. Email Autoresponder
An email Autoresponder may be accessed through autoresponder email or CRM (Client Relationship Management) software and I do have my favourite, because it’s rich in features like tagging, automation, segmentation… and I can do everything I want to do and more.
It’s whole purpose, is to send automatic emails ( on autopilot) to your website visitors, once they have “opted-In” and given you their names and emails addresses for your Free report.
You will need to have these emails pre-written.
You will often associate either Tags, or a List, or both, to the email sequence that welcomes your new prospect.
Examples of tags might be: Prospect, Customer, Product A, Free Report B
Examples of Lists might be: Free Report A, Free Audio B
A series of 4 to 7 emails can be pre-written and added to the email autoresponder sequence, to nurture your new prospect, provide helpful information, and make them an offer to purchase your services and products along the way.
4. Getting Traffic To Your Web Page
Then the last stage is getting Traffic… That’s marketing “speak” for -People – to visit these pages on your website.
This may be Paid traffic such as Facebook ads, or Google Pay Per Click ads.
It may be Organic traffic over time, such as using Blog posts, guest online articles, or even podcasting.
Then there is Social Media Traffic, where you may have a content posting and sharing strategy, or you may have a video marketing strategy on YouTube.
These traffic strategies all direct attention to your landing page, where your valuable offer is available to your Perfect Prospect. This is in essence how you create an online marketing funnel, to generate leads for your business.
